Walk to the End of the White Rock Pier

Canada's longest pier stretches 470 metres over Semiahmoo Bay, Mount Baker glowing across the water like it's showing off.

The White Rock pier has been knocked down by storms twice and rebuilt both times, which honestly says everything about why you should walk it. Canada's longest timber pier, all 470 metres of it, stretches out over Semiahmoo Bay with Mount Baker across the water in Washington, going absolutely pink at sunset like it knows it's being watched. The town keeps repairing this thing, which is its own kind of love story and provides an excellent conversation starter if the date needs one. Stroll the waterfront promenade that runs most of the beach, walk to the very end until the land is genuinely gone, then double back along Marine Drive for fish and chips or gelato. Go near sunset, because the bay does not miss.
