The highest point in Stanley Park, straight down the Lions Gate Bridge, and an ice-cream stand to stand at while you stare.
Prospect Point is the kind of view that ends the 'where should we go' text thread. From the highest spot in Stanley Park, you are looking straight down over the First Narrows, with the Lions Gate Bridge sweeping across to the North Shore, freighters drifting below on a schedule they refuse to explain, and the mountains stacked behind the whole thing like they were arranged by someone who wanted to ruin all other views for you permanently. There is a cafe and an ice-cream stand if you need something to do with your hands while you process the scale of it. Standing on the lookout is free. You pay for parking, that is it. Lean on the railing together, let the silence do most of the work, and wait for golden hour, when the whole inlet turns bronze and even the freighters look like they planned this.
