Stanley Park's west-facing sandy cove, where everyone on the seawall cycles past while you watch the real show.
The seawall gets all the attention and Third Beach gets all the sunsets. Tucked under Ferguson Point on the wild western edge of Stanley Park, this sandy little cove faces straight into the evening sky with no downtown skyline cluttering the frame, just water, old-growth trees and colour. The Teahouse sits perched above it and has essentially built its entire reputation on this view, which tells you something. Walk in through the forest, claim a log on the sand, and watch the sky come undone over the Salish Sea while the rest of the seawall crowd cycles on by, blissfully unaware. The catch is it takes a touch of effort to reach, which is precisely why it stays this good. Pack a thermos and aim to arrive an hour before sundown. That is non-negotiable.
