Be honest with each other before you book one of these: a haunted house is only a good date if you both actually like being scared. Fright Nights is the big one, with seven haunted houses and the Playland rides. Cougar Creek in Surrey is all about the houses. If one of you is more "cute spooky" than "screaming", Canyon Frights and the Haunted Village in Burnaby keep it atmospheric and gore-free.

For something gentler, Canyon Frights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and the Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum. For adults, Science World After Dark: Sinister Science on October 30. Dates, hours and prices for each are listed above.
Fright Nights runs on October 31, the Parade of Lost Souls steps off from Vernon Drive and Napier Street at 7, 8 and 9pm, the Haunted Village has trick-or-treating that night only, and the Spooky Pop-Up Market at Heritage Hall runs 11am to 5pm.
Yes. KitsPatch on West 4th (October 24, 11am to 3pm), the Spooky Pop-Up Market at Heritage Hall (October 31 and November 1), and the Parade of Lost Souls in Strathcona on October 31 are free to attend.
Richmond Country Farms on Steveston Highway is open daily to October 31, Rondriso Farms in Cloverdale charges $8 a person with $4 hayrides, and Taves Family Farms in Abbotsford runs Magic of Fall to October 31. For more, see our pumpkin patches guide.
Science World After Dark: Sinister Science (October 30) and Suite 1313: The Thirteen Club Mystery are 19 and older. Check each organiser's page for age rules on the haunted houses.
Seven haunted houses after dark, so yes, if you both enjoy that. If one of you doesn't, pick Canyon Frights or the Haunted Village instead; both are built to be atmospheric rather than gory.
