Mariner has been Coquitlam's first craft brewery since 2017, which means it's had time to get very good at the things that matter: tasting flights that run from crisp lagers through bold IPAs into whatever small-batch experiment they've got going that week. Order one flight each, compare notes, argue mildly about the IPA, then share the signature smash burger and argue not at all. It's warm and unpretentious in the way that places can only be when they actually mean it, and the three-pints-in effect is well-documented and real. Show up Monday and you've got trivia as a built-in icebreaker. Wednesday lands you in wing night. Either is a more efficient first-date move than you'd think from somewhere this relaxed.
