The tasting room is small, the flights are good, the comfort food is exactly what it says. Nobody here is faking that everybody-knows-everybody warmth. Order a flight, pick the one you'd drink a full pint of, argue about it, lose an hour.
Roll in early on a weekend, Saturday and Sunday it opens at noon and the small tasting room stays mellow before the after-work crowd lands, which is exactly the window you want for actual conversation. Order a flight rather than committing to a pint each; it's the brewery's own line poured fresh off the tank, and tasting your way across it together is half the date. Grab one of the corner tables away from the door for the cosiest perch. Don't miss whatever seasonal or small-batch beer is on that isn't bottled, those are the ones you can only get standing in the room. Pair with the comfort-food plates if you're staying a while. Timing trick: hours are tighter than a big-city taproom (it closes by 7pm early in the week), so save this for Thursday-through-Sunday when it runs later, and it's a two-minute hop from Ridge Brewing's Dewdney strip to dinner downtown.
