More info

The date

Hoy Creek Linear Park is the reason Coquitlam City Centre is bearable on foot: a green seam of cedar, fern and running water threaded between the towers, ten minutes from Lafarge Lake Douglas station. Gravel and boardwalk underfoot, kingfishers and dippers overhead, traffic you can hear but never see. Halfway along, just west of the aquatic complex, volunteers from the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society run a small salmon hatchery that raises coho from egg to smolt and releases them into the creek each spring. Free, flat, and open whenever you are.
