There is no sign. There is one red light, glowing beside an unmarked door, tucked behind a furniture shop on Main Street. You follow it through a graffiti-covered concrete stairwell and emerge into The Narrow Lounge, long and skinny and dimly lit, which has been doing exactly this since 2008 and shows no signs of changing a thing. Creative house cocktails, natural wine, and cheap Mexican-leaning bites anchor the menu. It can get loud when the room fills, which happens, so the earlier side of the evening or the back patio is your friend if you'd like to actually hear each other talk. But here is the truth: finding the door is half the date. Nail that and you walk in already feeling like a team. Everything after is easy.
