Nov 26 - Dec 24 · from 11amLangley's new 'traditional' European Christmas market, in its very first year: free entry, 70+ timber chalets, carol-oke and a curling rink right in the middle.
Downtown Langley City
More infoLangley Christmas Village calls itself a traditional European Christmas market, which is confident for something in its first year. Then again, every family tradition starts the same way: somebody does it once and announces it's annual. Entry's free, no ticket needed, and more than 70 vendors set up in timber chalets in Downtown Langley, asking Fraser Highway to do its best Europe for four weeks. There's a 36ft tree, daily live entertainment and carol-oke, the one karaoke where everybody knows the words until the second verse. In the middle sits a pop-up curling rink, the one European tradition Canadians already have strong opinions about. A sheet is $90 an hour for up to 8 players, equipment included, so you'll find out which of you sweeps like it's the Brier and which sweeps like it's the kitchen floor. Curl first, wander the chalets after, and on the way home call it 'our thing'. Once counts. Ask any family.
Walk in free, no ticket needed. If curling bookings are open, reserve a sheet ($90 an hour, up to 8 players, equipment included) and settle who sweeps hardest before anyone's holding a drink. Then work through the 70+ timber chalets slowly, stop at the 36ft tree and give carol-oke at least one verse, ideally the first.
