Paddle a glacial fjord from a sheltered postcard village and earn a legendary Honey Doughnut on the way back.
Deep Cove is twenty-five minutes from downtown and feels like you drove into a different century: a sheltered, mirror-flat inlet ringed by steep forest that takes its mountain reflections very seriously. Rent a double kayak from Deep Cove Kayak Centre right on the water and nose out into Indian Arm, a proper glacial fjord where the main noise is eagles loafing in the cedars and the occasional seal minding its own business. A double kayak is the correct call if you'd rather flirt than race. Morning is the sweet spot since the afternoon breeze has opinions, hours run roughly 9 to 7 in summer but are weather- and daylight-dependent so call ahead, and the whole outing collapses spiritually without a legendary Honey Doughnut from the village afterward. There's a reason everyone comes back.
