Walk the Shoreline Trail to Old Orchard Beach

Six flat kilometres along Burrard Inlet to a sandy beach at Old Orchard Park. Most first-timers never make it.

Port Moody earns a quiet flex with the Shoreline Trail: a flat, 6 km out-and-back that hugs Burrard Inlet from the noise of Rocky Point all the way to the hush of Old Orchard Park. Take the gravel walking-only path for the full nature experience, slow your pace at the new Pigeon Cove boardwalk, and keep going until the trail delivers you to a sandy beach most first-timers never know exists. The inlet stays calm along this stretch so the whole thing has a gentle, mid-conversation quality. It's the rare outdoors date that doesn't require broken-in shoes, strong legs, or an early alarm, just a willingness to walk a straight line along the inlet and see where you both end up. Out is 3 km, back is 3 km, and the beach at the far end makes the return feel earned.
