More infoPort Moody earns a quiet flex with the Shoreline Trail, a flat 6 km out-and-back hugging Burrard Inlet from busy Rocky Point to hushed Old Orchard Park. Take the gravel walking-only path, slow down at the new Pigeon Cove boardwalk, and keep going to a sandy beach most first-timers never know exists. No broken-in shoes or early alarm required, just a willingness to follow the inlet and see where you end up.
Start at the Rocky Point pier and head south on the gravel walking-only path (the paved one is shared with cyclists and scooters, take the gravel for the quieter, more wooded route). About halfway, stop at the Pigeon Cove boardwalk that opened in late 2025: its viewing platform features Indigenous house posts carved by səlilwətaɬ and q̓ic̓əy̓ artists, and it's the standout most people walk right past. Keep going to Old Orchard Park, the trail's quiet payoff, with a sandy beach, picnic tables, washrooms and grass for sprawling, far calmer than the Rocky Point end. It's roughly 3km each way and flat the whole way, so budget two unhurried hours round trip.
