Walk a wobbling 137-metre bridge 70 metres over a river canyon and discover what your date's face looks like under genuine terror.
Nothing reveals a person's true nature quite like watching them cross a wobbling 137-metre plank bridge strung 70 metres above a river canyon. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park leans fully into the white-knuckle offer: the famous swaying main bridge, the Cliffwalk jutting out over the gorge on a cantilevered glass-floored ledge, and the Treetops Adventure looping through old-growth Douglas firs. Yes, it's touristy, and yes, the admission stings a bit. But it's also genuinely thrilling and undeniably gorgeous, and gripping someone's hand mid-span is a fast-track to chemistry. Somebody has to hold the rail. Open year-round except Christmas, with seasonal days and hours, so check before you go. Book after 5 p.m. between mid-May and early September and you'll save 25 percent, which at least softens the blow of paying to be frightened.
