A 25 km river loop around all of Port Coquitlam, almost zero hills, salmon in the water and absolutely no pressure to finish it.
The Traboulay is Port Coquitlam's best trick: a 25 km gravel-and-pavement loop that rings the entire city at close to zero elevation, alongside two rivers, a slough and open farmland, with almost no cars for company. You are not going to walk all 25 km on a date, and nobody is suggesting you do. The whole point is to pick a riverside leg, amble along at whatever pace your conversation allows, spot salmon when the run is on, keep an eye out for herons doing their prehistoric statue impression, and turn around whenever you feel ready. It is the kind of trail where you forget you are exercising because you are too busy talking. Flat enough for any fitness level, quiet enough to actually hear each other, and free from start to finish. The conversation, apparently, does the heavy lifting.
