Big-sky dyke-top walking where the Fraser meets the sea, with a 10-metre treehouse that grown adults are absolutely allowed to climb.
Terra Nova is the corner of Richmond where the Fraser River runs out of energy and empties into the Salish Sea, and the Outer Loop turns that wide, end-of-the-land feeling into a date you can actually breathe in. It's a flat, stroller-easy 3 km of wide gravel dyke and marsh boardwalk, with the West Dyke seawall on one side and patchwork farm fields on the other, giving you ocean horizon, mountain backdrop and genuine rural quiet on a single walk. This strip sits on the Pacific Flyway, which means snow geese, herons and eagles depending on the season. And then there's the Terra Nova Adventure Play Environment: a world-class nature playground with a 10-metre treehouse and tandem ziplines that you, two fully grown adults, are completely allowed to ride. Free, open dawn to dusk.
