The cultural centre of the Squamish and Lil'wat Nations in Whistler's Upper Village, with a guided tour included in admission.
Blackcomb Way, Upper Village
More infoThe Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre sits on the shared territory of the Squamish Nation and the Lil'wat Nation, and it's the most meaningful hour you can spend in Whistler. The Great Hall holds carved house posts, story poles, canoes, weavings and regalia, and every admission includes a guided tour of 60 to 90 minutes led by the centre. The Thunderbird Café serves Indigenous-inspired food, including bannock. Check the site for current hours.
From November 6 to December 31, 2026 the centre is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, with some extra closures, so check the visit page before the drive. Adult admission is $25, reduced to $20 from November 6 to December 16, 2026 during renovations, plus GST; Indigenous Peoples get in free. Admission includes a guided tour: this winter it's the Wisdom of the Animal People tour at 11 am and 3 pm, about the role of animals in Squamish and Lil'wat cultures. Afterwards, the Thunderbird Café serves bannock and Indigenous-inspired food. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.
