More infoThe Chutzpah! Festival opens its 2026 edition on Tuesday with a one-night Local Artists Showcase at the Rio, and the line-up reads like a variety night with taste: Liat Har Lev dancing flamenco, a musical drag comedy piece from Uriel Yekutiel, a new Yiddish-inspired theatre work from Angelic Goldsky, and music from Haley K Turner and Jonah Ocean, with Jacob Samuel as emcee. Variety bills make easy dates, because if one act is not your thing the next one arrives in ten minutes. Have Trinidadian doubles at Baby Dhal Roti Shop on Commercial Drive first, three minutes away, and finish with an aperitivo at Bar Corso further up the Drive. Show at 7:30pm. Tickets are pay what you will at $18, $36 or $54, or $72 for VIP reserved seats.
Pick a pay-what-you-will ticket on the Chutzpah! site ($18, $36, $54, or $72 VIP reserved). Eat at Baby Dhal Roti Shop on Commercial Drive around 6pm, walk three minutes to the Rio for doors at 7pm and the 7:30pm show. Afterwards, Bar Corso is about a 12-minute walk up the Drive.
