Port Moody's only free public gallery, housed in two heritage buildings that make the romance look effortless.
Port Moody's art gallery lives inside the 1914 Old City Hall and the 1910 Appleyard House, which is to say the venue itself is doing most of the romantic heavy lifting before you've even looked at the art. PoMoArts is the only free public gallery in Port Moody, with rotating shows selected by professionals, giving you something to actually discuss beyond 'I like the colours.' There's a gift shop stocked with local-artist work in case you want to commemorate the fact that you have taste. It costs nothing. It is warm and dry. The architecture makes you slow down and talk without the conversation needing to go anywhere in particular. This is the date that sounds modest and arrives quietly excellent, which is a very good personality trait in a person and an equally good one in a venue.
