A Show at the Inlet Theatre

A warm 200-seat theatre in Port Moody's Newport Village, with dinner steps away and acoustics regulars actually brag about.

The Inlet Theatre is the date venue equivalent of a restaurant that seats forty: intimate enough that you can actually see the actors' expressions from every one of its roughly 200 raked seats, with a sprung-maple stage and acoustics that regulars happily brag about unprompted. The room hosts plays, concerts, dance, and film. Port Moody's own Canadian Film Festival arrives each February, and the whole thing sits inside the Civic Centre right next to Newport Village's restaurants. That last detail is the trick. You can build an unhurried evening without once getting in a car between dinner and curtain, and unlike the big downtown venues, there is zero stadium energy to battle. Tidy, grown-up, a little neighbourhood-proud, and very easy to enjoy.
