The New Media Gallery is the most surprising thing in downtown New Westminster: a small municipal gallery on the third floor of the Anvil Centre that consistently books artists you would expect to find in a European kunsthalle, all of them working in light, sound, video and code. Admission is free. Rooms go dark, things hum, and twenty minutes disappear while you work out how one of the pieces is done. Through 2026 the space is handed to an artist in residence, Ben Bogart, making work in the gallery itself, so what is on show is the making rather than a finished exhibition.
