UBC Point Grey campus
More infoFree museum, DJ, new exhibition: that's the Thursday pitch. The Museum of Anthropology at UBC opens From the Deep: In the Wake of Drexciya with Ayana V. Jackson on November 19, and the opening celebration has free admission from 6pm. The exhibition is a feminist Pan-African aquatopia inspired by the Detroit techno duo Drexciya, which explains why DJ Nea is playing. The program runs 7pm to 8pm with remarks from the artist, there are light refreshments, and no RSVP is needed. MOA is out at Point Grey, so make the trip count. Koerner's Pub on campus is the easy pint afterwards. If you'd rather eat properly, La Quercia in West Point Grey does family-style Italian about ten minutes away by car.
No ticket needed: free admission from 6pm, with the program from 7pm to 8pm. Leave time to walk the Great Hall too. Afterwards, Koerner's Pub on campus is a short walk for a pint, or drive ten minutes to La Quercia in West Point Grey for dinner.
From 6pm, late
