Diwali Fest marks its 23rd year in Metro Vancouver, and the Vancouver edition lands at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown, a warm, wood-beamed hall built for exactly this kind of gathering. Expect live music, dance performances drawing on South Asian classical and contemporary traditions, and chai served through the afternoon. The invitation is to dress in festive attire and treat the festival of lights as an excuse to get dressed up on a Saturday afternoon. It's free, but the venue caps capacity, so online registration ahead of time is the only way in.
