Nov 19 - Jan 2Glow Gardens Langley spends its 10th season taking Christmas underwater, with a three-storey Crystal Palace, more than a million lights and no snorkel required for either of you.
Milner, 216 Street
More infoFor its 10th season, Glow Gardens Langley has taken Christmas, a holiday that runs almost entirely on snow and chimneys, and sent it underwater, which is a big ask of a man who commutes by roof. The theme is Christmas Treasures, and the haul is more than a million lights indoors and out at what Glow calls British Columbia's largest indoor light festival. The deep end is the Crystal Palace, a three-storey walk-through with a dancing light show, which makes it the only sunken palace you explore by going up. Tickets are sold by day and cover the attractions and parking. The food trucks and the Merry Makers Market are where your own treasure starts going overboard. Do one slow lap, take the palace floor by floor, then surface for food and a proper debate about which storey won. Santa's in there too, taking visits by donation, having apparently found a way in without a chimney.
Book your day ahead, since tickets are sold by date, and enter the free lot heading north on 216 St. Do a loop of the outdoor lights, then climb the three-storey Crystal Palace together for its dancing light show. Food trucks and the Merry Makers Market cost extra, and market vendors are listed on select dates only, so check yours before promising anyone an artisan gift.
Glow Gardens bills Christmas Treasures as magic for the whole family: an underwater holiday theme, the three-storey Crystal Palace walk-through with a dancing light show, the Glow-comotive train ride, visits with Santa by donation and indoor play zones in covered, heated spaces.
