The date

Noël at Cloverdale Fairgrounds has ride-on reindeer, and unless you're between 2 and 6, they aren't for you. The festival runs November 27 to December 29, 2026, and sorts its fun by age with real conviction: Rudolph's Ranch for toddlers, the Candy Cane Slide for 6 to 12, the bar for 19 and up. Adults who've aged out of the reindeer get the Ferris wheel, which is unlimited and has no age bracket listed, so it's the one ride here that doesn't care what year you were born. The lights started small. Bright Nights began in the mid-1980s at one Newton home with Surrey firefighters, did more than 25 years in Stanley Park, and now circles the pond here for all ages, including the disappointed ones. Ticket proceeds support the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund. Walk the lights, ride the wheel until one of you calls it, warm up at the fire pits, and let the under-sixes have the reindeer. They can't order at the bar.

How to do it

Book any arrival slot. There's no time limit once you're in. Walk the Bright Nights loop around the pond together, then take the Ferris wheel as often as you both want. Warm up at the fire pits or in the heated Snow Barn Christmas Market, and leave Rudolph's Ranch to the ages 2 to 6. Food, drinks and market buys cost extra.

What to wear: casual is fine

Bringing the kids

Noël is built for families as much as couples: Santa and Green Grouch photos, Snow Sisters singalongs, face painting and crafts, unlimited Ferris wheel and Candy Cane Slide rides, an illuminated LED playground and Rudolph's Ranch ride-on reindeer for ages 2 to 6.

Children 6 and under free but still need a ticket; youth (7-18) and seniors from $18. Under 16s must be with an adult. Candy Cane Slide is for ages 6-12 and at least 48 inches tall. Paved outdoor path and flat indoor floors suit strollers and wheelchairs. Free parking. Adult price is not a family total.
