More infoYou can walk past the Squarerigger for years and never find it, because it sits back in a courtyard behind the Marine Drive shopfronts instead of on the street. Inside it is dark wood, ship fittings and a fire, recently smartened up without losing the plot, and the patio takes dogs. Pints are cheap by West Vancouver standards, which in West Vancouver counts as a genuine local secret. Live music lands Fridays at eight and karaoke Saturdays at half past seven, which you can treat as a warning or as the entire reason to turn up. Happy hour runs noon to six.
Look for the courtyard entrance set back off Marine Drive near 15th, because there is no obvious storefront and people do give up. Pints are the move and the food is honest pub cooking rather than a destination. Fridays bring live music at eight, Saturdays karaoke at half past seven. The Ambleside seawalk is one block downhill, so this is the natural bookend to a walk along the water.
