Skip the pay-to-play bridge next door for its free, arguably-prettier cousin: a roughly 3.5 km, 1.5-hour loop down into the mossy canyon, past the salmon hatchery's fish ladders, and onto the deck of the Cleveland Dam, where the spillway thunders and the twin Lions stand right behind it. It's easy-but-wow and won't wreck your legs. Dam parking is free but fills fast on summer weekends, so come early with a thermos and roll into the day relaxed.
