Breakfast and lunch only, seven days, doors at 8. The kitchen is known for its hashes, its poached eggs and a breakfast sandwich people order without reading the rest of the menu, and there is a retail shelf of small-batch granola, spiced pecans and frozen things made in the same room. It sits a block off the 224 Street core, so Memorial Peace Park, the ACT and the antique shops are all a short walk once the plates are gone.
Book by phone or through their reservation page, especially on a weekend, because the room is not large. Order a hash, corned beef or pork, both of which are the reason people keep coming, and let the coffee do the rest. Give it an hour and a quarter, then look at the retail shelf on the way out; the spiced pecans and the granola travel well. From the door it is one block to 224 Street, Memorial Peace Park and the ACT, which makes the rest of the afternoon plan itself.
