Fred's put a proper modern Italian room into Ambleside, which had plenty of restaurants and not much of this: fresh pasta rolled daily, hand-stretched pizza out of a hearth oven, and a wine and cocktail list built to be ordered from rather than tolerated. The room runs to booths and low light, so it stays quieter than the size suggests. It sits on Bellevue one block up from Ambleside Beach, which means the seawalk is a two-minute walk out the door in either direction.
