Foodie Experiences
Vancouver's first Michelin Young Chef Award winner cooks seasonal BC plates in a warm wood room beside the Pacific Spirit forest.
Wildlight is tucked into lelem village near UBC, at the edge of the Pacific Spirit forest, which means your dinner is preceded by a neighbourhood that most Vancouverites don't know exists. Chef Warren Chow, who took Vancouver's first-ever Michelin Young Chef Award, builds a modern West Coast menu from ethically sourced, peak-season BC ingredients, and the wine list has been recognized by Wine Spectator, so the kitchen is not the only thing doing serious work. The room is all warm light wood and calm: a Michelin-recommended space that manages to be a genuine grown-up dining experience without the downtown noise or the downtown prices that usually come with it. Rating sits at a 4.6. Pair dinner with a walk through the Pacific Spirit trails next door. The forest is right there, and the light through the trees after a meal like this is absurdly good.
