Breakfast Under the Totems at The Tomahawk

A 1926 North Shore institution where the Yukon-style bacon arrives in slabs and a century of carved masks watches you eat breakfast.

Norgate, Philip Ave at Marine Dr

More info

The date

The Tomahawk has fed the North Shore since 1926, and the Chamberlain family has spent every one of those years collecting. Totem poles stand out front, carved masks run the length of the beams, and the artifacts keep going until the room reads like a small museum that happens to griddle hash browns. The Yukon-style bacon and eggs is the plate the whole legend was built on, and it is still the one to order. Come hungry, sit under the masks, and take your time with the walls.
