Firehall Arts Centre, E Cordova St
More infoKevin Loring's Where the Blood Mixes won the Governor General's Award for Drama, and the Firehall Arts Centre is staging it from November 18 to December 6, 2026. It's set in Lytton during the salmon run: a father, his friends and the daughter who comes home after more than twenty years. This is a serious play about family and the legacy of residential schools, and it's written with a lot of humour, which is part of why it lands. Opening night is Wednesday, November 18 at 7:30pm. Centre seats are $39 and Tuesday performances are $20, one of the better theatre deals in town. Chinatown is a few blocks away: Kissa Tanto on East Pender for dinner, and The Keefer Bar or Bagheera for a drink and a long talk about what you just saw.
Book through the Firehall ($39 centre, $20 on Tuesday evenings). Evenings are 7:30pm, with 3pm matinees on weekends. Eat at Kissa Tanto or Bao Bei in Chinatown, a few minutes' walk away, and leave time afterwards for a drink at The Keefer Bar.
