Last call for the Count. Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors closes at the Arts Club's Granville Island Stage on November 15, and the final week runs Tuesday to Sunday. This is the farce version of the gothic classic: the hero is a coward, the lady is the adventurous one, and Dracula bakes cakes. It runs about 95 minutes with no intermission, and the Arts Club flags fog, haze, strobe, strong language and plenty of innuendo, so leave the grandparents at home. Tickets start at $29. Eat first at The Sandbar under the bridge, two minutes from the theatre, or graze the Granville Island Market if you're catching a matinee. After an evening show, cross to Kitsilano for natural wine at Grapes & Soda on West 6th.
Pick a final-week performance on the Arts Club site (from $29); evenings are 7pm Tuesday and Wednesday and 7:30pm Thursday to Saturday, with matinees Wednesday, Saturday and the closing Sunday at 2pm. Dinner at The Sandbar is two minutes from the door. The show runs 95 minutes straight through, so you'll be out in time for a glass at Grapes & Soda in Kitsilano.
