Ask for a patio table out front, this stretch of East Beach faces the bay and stays calmer than the pier end, so you get the view without the chaos. Order the carmela in the molcajete (it arrives bubbling in the stone bowl and is the photogenic centerpiece), add the fresh fish tacos and the ceviche, and get the margaritas on the rocks with salt. Go before the dinner rush in summer because the patio fills fast and they take the good water-facing tables first-come once reservations run out. Don't miss walking it off afterward: you're a five-minute stroll from the East Beach side of the promenade, which is the quiet, locals-only end most first-timers never reach. Parking is easier at this end than near the pier, but still aim for the side streets up the hill rather than circling Marine Drive.
