Street Food at The Lunch Lady

The Vietnamese street food that made Anthony Bourdain misty on television now has a permanent home on The Drive.

Anthony Bourdain went genuinely misty over the original Lunch Lady on television, and the Commercial Drive incarnation has inherited the cult in full. This is bright, herby, fish-sauce-forward Vietnamese street food that actually cares about what it's doing, backed by four Bib Gourmand wins and zero apology for the noise level. Order the bun cha, get the turmeric crepe, add a cocktail, and commit to slurping with absolutely no dignity at all. It's lively and gloriously unpretentious, very much a date for two people who'd rather flirt over great noodles than perform their way through a tasting menu. The four Michelin Bib Gourmand wins tend to come up in conversation eventually. Let them do the bragging. Go early, because The Drive figures things out fast and the seats go quickly with it.
