Tasty Indian Bistro's Yaletown room is the dressed-up, downtown end of the story: a contemporary Indian dining room where Executive Chef and partner Satnam Singh applies decades of cooking to expert tandoor work, layered marinades and a proper cocktail and wine program designed to pair with the food rather than just sit alongside it. Diners regularly call it among the best Indian in the city, and a Vancouver Magazine honourable mention seems to agree. The room is polished without being stiff, with a patio that catches the Yaletown buzz on warm evenings. Order the lamb curry and a tandoori platter to share, let the mixology program set the pace, and try to resist ordering one more round of the cocktail you can't quite place. It holds a 4.3 and earns it.
