A forested lake reached from Whistler Village on the Valley Trail, with a beach and swim docks in summer and ticketed Nordic trails in winter.
Lost Lake Park, above the Upper Village
More infoLost Lake is Whistler's backyard lake, reached from the village by the Valley Trail or, in summer, a shuttle. In summer there's a beach with swim docks and food trucks, and the trail network around the water makes for an easy, quiet walk. From December 15 to March 31 the park becomes Nordic ski and snowshoe trails only, with tickets from the Lost Lake PassivHaus, and it's closed to walkers. The rest of the year it's the free, low-effort way to see the valley without a lift ticket.
Follow the Valley Trail from the village or take the summer shuttle from the Day Lots off Blackcomb Way, since the Lost Lake lot is pick-up and drop-off only from May 15 to September 15 and closed from about November 15 to April 15. Walk the trails by the lake, then stop at the beach and docks; there's no lifeguard and the water can be cold. From December 15 to March 31 the park is open only to cross-country skiers and snowshoers with a ticket from the Lost Lake PassivHaus, with parking in Day Lot 5. Short on time? Beach and back.
