More infoIt was announced as Benne, and by the time the doors opened in early August it was Veda, which tells you this team sweats the details. The room is 20 seats plus a small patio on West 1st, from the people behind Michelin Guide recommended Karma Indian Bistro, and it describes itself as built for slow meals. The dosas are naturally fermented and cooked to order, the small plates run from idli to gunpowder wings, and there is proper South Indian filter coffee, mango lassi and a short cocktail list. Kitsilano waited years for exactly this restaurant without knowing its name, which turned out to be fitting.
