Riverside Walk on the Fort-to-Fort Trail

A gentle 8 km out-and-back along the Fraser River from Fort Langley village to the original 1827 fort site.

The Fort-to-Fort Trail is exactly what it says: an 8 km mostly flat round trip linking Fort Langley village to the site of the original 1827 Hudson's Bay Company fort in Derby Reach, along the Fraser River. What that means in practice is a gentle walk past Bedford Landing's waterfront, heritage sawmill artifacts that invite both inspection and moderate historical commentary, and a few benches and little piers to walk out onto and linger on. River views the whole way. Rain or shine, stroller-friendly, dog-friendly, and requiring approximately zero athletic commitment. Walk as far as you feel like it, turn around when you're ready, and use the village at the other end as both your motivation and your reward. The coffee is there for when you've done enough trail and earned something warm. The trail earns it too.
