Broke & Bougie
A free oceanside amphitheatre at Kits Beach, been running since the 1930s, still better than most paid dates.
The Kitsilano Showboat has been doing this since the 1930s, which means it predates most of the date ideas you've ever Googled. It's a wooden amphitheatre right at Kits Beach, open to the air, where local bands, choirs and dance troupes perform with English Bay, the North Shore mountains and whatever the West Coast sunset decides to do behind them. It costs nothing. You bring a blanket. That is the entire plan, and it is better than most plans. The show runs Wednesday through Sunday all summer, and nobody is going to grade your effort here. This is the date you choose when you want to show someone a genuinely good evening without making a production of it. Vancouver just does the rest.
