More infoThe hardest part of a sushi date is agreeing on the order. At Zumi you don't have to. Plates ride a belt past your seat, you take whatever looks good, and you pay by the plate, so the menu decides itself one plate at a time. Zumi sits at 1588 Alberni Street, inside the Alberni by Kengo Kuma tower, and it opened October 25, 2026. The restaurant's own list puts hamachi at $4, salmon and tai at $5, chutoro and maguro at $6 and uni at $8. Want something the belt isn't carrying? There are 12 cedar seats at the counter in front of the chefs, where you can ask for it. We think this is a strong pick for an early date, because the food keeps the conversation moving and nobody has to commit to a big order. Split an uni plate, ask the chefs about something the belt doesn't carry, and walk down to the Coal Harbour seawall afterwards.
Zumi is at 1588 Alberni Street, in the Alberni by Kengo Kuma tower. Its site lists 2pm to 10pm daily through October 31, then from November 1 weekdays 11am to 10pm and weekends 10:30am to 10pm. Plates are $4 to $8 and you pay by the plate. Ask for the 12-seat counter if you want dishes the belt doesn't carry.
