The trail to Jug Island Beach is a slow-burn film: pleasantly ordinary forest, then suddenly a quiet pebble beach with Jug Island offshore and the green wall of Mount Seymour filling the water behind it. From the Belcarra picnic area it's 5.5 km round-trip with a staircase to keep things honest. One catch: the lot charges after 10 a.m. from April through September, so come early or bring toonies.
