More infoEvery Sunday in August the Commercial Drive Business Society turns the little piazza at Commercial and Kitchener into an open air cinema. Food vendors and music start at 5:30pm, neighbours drift in with lawn chairs and blankets, and the film starts once the sky goes properly dark, Italian classics and crowd pleasers like Luca. It is free, it sits on the Drive's best people watching block, and Livia's gelato counter is steps away. The 2026 series runs Sundays through August 30.
Arrive on the early side to browse the vendors and stake out a seat, the piazza is small and fills fast. Grab a cone from Livia before the film starts at dusk, and bring a layer for after sunset.
