Start in the Sunken Garden, her original creation, where blooms tumble into the old quarry pit as if the rock always meant to end this way. Then drift through the Rose, Japanese and Italian Gardens. In summer, stay for the Saturday-night fireworks.
Give yourselves a couple of hours and comfy shoes; the Sunken Garden in the old quarry is the jaw-drop, so save a proper pause there. Drift through the Rose, Japanese and Italian Gardens, find a bench by the Ross Fountain, and let the place handle the romance. Summer brings illuminations and Saturday fireworks; spring tulips, winter lights. Don't rush this one.
