You walk 800 metres out along a concrete pier, the Strait of Juan de Fuca dramatic on both sides, until you reach a small lighthouse with the Olympic Mountains framed behind it. Grab a drink at the Breakwater Cafe, wear a real layer, and hold hands so nobody blows into international waters.
Walk 800 metres straight out to sea on the concrete pier toward the lighthouse, strait on both sides and the Olympics dead ahead; budget around an hour out and back. Wear a layer, because out here the sea writes the dress code. Bookend the walk with a coffee or drink at the Breakwater Cafe, and time it for sunset when the strait turns molten.
