Foodie Experiences
The Korean grillhouse where you cook whole duck at the table and crack into soy-marinated raw crab Koreans actually call 'rice thief.'
Toe Dam is for the date where you want a story and not just a meal. Tucked into the North Road Korean Town strip in Burquitlam, it does Korean barbecue but sidesteps the usual brisket-and-bulgogi routine in favour of something gloriously stranger. The signature grill is whole duck, which you cook at the table, and alongside it comes ganjang gejang: soy-marinated raw crab loaded with roe, briny and buttery, the delicacy Koreans call 'rice thief' because you genuinely cannot stop scooping it over your bowl. Rated 4.5 with famously tender, well-marinated meats and plenty of shareable sets, it does the interactive BBQ thing but wilder than anything else on the strip. Seafood pancakes round it out, there's plenty of plaza parking, and you'll leave with something to talk about for weeks. Come adventurous, come hungry.
