Foodie Experiences
Tabletop grills, marinated galbi and a running argument about who's hogging the grill: Insadong is North Road's best date sport.
On North Road, Metro Vancouver's unofficial Koreatown, Insadong is the table-grill anchor and it has a secret weapon: it hands you raw meat and an open flame and sees what happens. Marinated galbi and bulgogi arrive at the grill between you, a small army of refillable banchan fills every available inch of the table, and the sizzle does the conversational ice-breaking before the first drink arrives. The compatibility test is built in and merciless: one of you is a grill-hog who flips everything too soon, one of you is patient enough to wait for the perfect char, and you will know which is which before the second round. It's open all day, so you can go early-bird or settle in for a long smoky evening. Either way, the banchan keeps refilling and so does the conversation.
