More infoFloyd's built its reputation on the Mahoney: hand the menu back unread, say the word, and the kitchen sends out whatever it feels like, which is either the best decision you will make all week or a very funny mistake. The Langford room opens at 7:30 on weekdays and does the rest of it properly too, with bennies, chicken and waffles, hash browns by the shovel and portions that make lunch redundant. It is loud, quick and cheerful, and the West Shore trails are ten minutes away when you need to walk it off.
Walk in, no reservations, and expect a wait at weekends. The move is the Mahoney: hand the menu back, say the word, and the kitchen picks your plate, which is far more entertaining when one of you does it and the other orders safely off the menu. Otherwise it is bennies or chicken and waffles. Budget about an hour. You are at Langford Station, ten minutes from Goldstream and the Ed Nixon Trail if you want to walk off the hash browns.
