Pick up the Galloping Goose Trail downtown, walk a few minutes into Vic West, and you'll hit the long, low wooden trestle that carries you out over the Gorge Waterway. Time it for golden hour, rowing shells slicing the water, herons in the shallows, the whole bridge lit like a film set as the sun drops. An out-and-back over the trestle is the perfect free evening, maybe an hour all in. Then walk straight back to a downtown coffee and keep talking.
