Gin and Cocktails at Long Table Distillery

Vancouver's first micro-distillery, opened in 2013, is still a happy secret near the Granville bridge on rainy Thursdays through Sundays.

Long Table was Vancouver's first micro-distillery when it opened in 2013, and the tasting room near the Granville bridge has the energy of a place that knows it's good and doesn't need to shout about it. Order a flight of their botanical West Coast gins, or hand the decision entirely to the bartender and ask for something layered and show-offy. Graze the cheese board while the rain does its thing outside. If you want the date to come with a skill attached, they run cocktail-making classes, which turns the whole thing into a party trick you get to deploy on everyone you know forever. Note that they're open Thursday to Sunday only, which makes this firmly a weekend plan. Book a class if you want it.
