A Tea Flight at Treasure Green

Owner Olivia steeps whites, greens and blacks in Chinatown like a wine flight, narrates the goji notes, and charges very little.

Treasure Green is a small, warm Chinatown tea shop, and the main event is owner Olivia, who greets you both with a sample before pouring a full flight of whites, greens and blacks as though she's opening a good bottle of wine. She steeps each one in front of you, narrates the notes (goji, longan, orange peel), and never oversells a thing. A few stools, a lot of steam, someone who knows tea cold: it is genuinely lovely and genuinely low-cost, and that is a rarer pairing than it should be. Leave room in the budget for the bag of tea you'll inevitably buy on the way out, and a little more for the teaware you'll tell yourself you don't need.
