Rainy Day
Rain-day grazing at Granville Island: warm cinnamon buns, stinky cheese, mini donuts, and a window seat watching False Creek get rained on.
When it's properly bucketing down, the Granville Island Public Market is a covered playground for two hungry mouths. The plan is not a plan: wander the stalls, split a still-warm cinnamon bun, acquire a wedge of something that smells alarming, grab a paper cone of mini donuts, point at whatever looks interesting and buy a piece of it. When you've loaded up enough, find a window seat over False Creek and watch the rain dimple the water like it's doing you a favour. No reservation, no price of entry, no agenda whatsoever. The only known risk is that everyone in Vancouver has the same rainy-day idea, so get there before the crowds. Arriving early is the only strategy you need.
